Stuart M. Clarke is a trial attorney focusing on complex litigation, including class actions, commercial litigation, fraud cases, complex motion practice, and appeals. Since joining Berton N. Ring, P.C., Stuart has worked on cases successfully recovering more than $750,000 for clients, and written or co-written briefs for six successful appeals. In addition, Mr. Clarke successfully argued for the annulment of a divorce judgment dating from 1961, believed to be the oldest judgment ever vacated in the State of Illinois.
Stuart has successfully represented plaintiffs in class actions ranging from consumer fraud and foreclosure abuse to mold and asbestos tort cases. He has written and litigated several class action complaints challenging corporate abuses arising out of the 2008-2009 housing crises and the Great Recession. He has also successfully represented both small business clients and employees in labor disputes. Most recently, Stuart attended the 18th Annual Class Action Institute of the American Bar Association.
Stuart joined Berton N. Ring, P. C. in 2010. Previously, Stuart’s experience included work in government, as a Legislative Aide for Del. Sandy Rosenberg (D-Dist. 41) in the Maryland General Assembly (2008). A member of the American Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, the Chicago Bar Association, and Phi Beta Kappa, Stuart lives with the love of his life, his beautiful wife Ashley.
